OPPO Announces A New 5G Hub And New SUPERVOCC Flash Charging Technology

OPPO announced a New 5G Hub with Flash Charging Technology and also two key advancements in high-speed flash charging at the Mobile World Congress 2022: 150W SUPERVOOC with Battery Health Engine (BHE) and 240W SUPERVOOC flash charge technology. OPPO’s 5G CPE T2 which is the latest 5G modem from the company.

Technologies for Fast Charging

OPPO has incorporated its self-developed BHE into the ultra-fast 150W SUPERVOOC flash charge, enabling the battery to retain 80% of its actual capacity after 1,600 charge cycles, which is twice the current industry standard, allowing for exceptionally fast charging while also protecting the battery’s health.

Their latest technological development in the smartphone industry is the 240W SUPERVOOC flash charge technology.

OPPO’s 240W SUPERVOOC ushers in a new era of safe and efficient flash charging by charging a 4,500mAh battery from 1% to 100% in roughly nine minutes.

Advanced Charging Efficiency: 150W SUPERVOOC with BHE

The 150W SUPERVOOC flash charge with BHE, which evolved from the industry-leading 125W SUPERVOOC flash charge technology, utilises charging technology with two charge pumps that can support up to 20V/7.5A charging.

Additionally, the adapter for 150W SUPERVOOC with BHE uses gallium nitride (GaN) to condense the adapter to approximately the same size as the prior generation 65W SUPERVOOC adapter, weighing around 172g and measures 58 x 57 x 30mm. A USB Type C charging adaptor is used by SUPERVOOC.

Go Beyond Speed With BHE

The Battery Health Engine (BHE), which is controlled by OPPO’s unique battery management chip but also includes two essential technologies: Smart Battery Health Algorithm and Battery Healing Technology, is included in the 150W SUPERVOOC fast charge to improve the overall charging experience.

By fine tuning the hardware and software, they increase battery health, safety, as well as performance. The Smart Battery Health Algorithm can monitor the electric potential across the battery’s negative electrodes in real time.

It effectively minimises the incidence of dead lithium while maintaining the maximum charging current by dynamically adjusting the charging currency within a suitable range.

This contributes to a longer battery life and faster charging times.

Battery Healing Technology extends the battery’s life by enhancing the battery’s inner system. The electrodes are continuously fixed during the charge and discharge cycles of the battery due to improvements in the electrolyte formula, resulting in a more resilient solid electrolyte interface (SEI) that is always in an optimal state.

This serves to reduce the wear on the battery’s positive and negative electrodes, improving battery performance as well as extending battery lifespan.

Looking forward, BHE will be implemented into some of the mid-to-high-end OPPO and OnePlus devices, providing more consumers with efficiency, safety as well as longevity.

In the second quarter of this year, 2022, OnePlus is planning to release a smartphone featuring a 150W SUPERVOOC flash charge with BHE.

SUPERVOOC 240W The Next Step In High Power Flash Charging

In response to the increased demand for high-efficiency charging solutions in the age of 5G intelligent connection, OPPO has released the 240W SUPERVOOC, which pushes the boundaries of high-power flash charging even further. In just 9 minutes, this innovative technology can fully charge a 4500mAh battery.

On the Type-C interface, the 240W SUPERVOOC is developed with 24V/10A tech. It has three charge pumps and can convert the power supplied to the devices to 10V/24A.

It complies with existing device specifications and has undergone heat dissipation testing, ensuring maximum efficiency and safety. Additionally, the hardware can support a maximum of 240W thanks to the battery’s leading discharge rating.

OPPO’s 240W SUPERVOOC provides a secure and seamless charging performance while also pushing the charging speed envelope.

OPPO minimises potential safety hazards and risks by applying a holistic approach to the adapter, charging cable, and decvice’s safety, resulting in a secure and efficient charging solution:
●To provide a safe charging solution, the 240W SUPERVOOC uses five safety control features and a specifically customised intelligent control chip that manages the voltage, current, and temperature.
●A specialized battery safety monitoring chip checks to see if the battery has been damaged by external factors.
●13 temperature sensors have been added in the phone to improve temperature protection, lowering the risk of overheating and preventing anomalies.

OPPO 5G CPE T2 Modem

The OPPO 5G CPE T2 is the next entry in OPPO’s 5G CPE products, following in the footsteps of the OPPO 5G CPE T1 series and the Omni.

This 5G modem comes with an all-new design featuring recycled materials, and also OPPO’s latest O-Reserve 2.0 smart antenna tech and customised optimisations developed in partnership with Qualcomm.

The OPPO 5G CPE T2 provides quicker and more consistent connectivity, making it the ideal hub for households and offices to take advantage of the 5G network’s speed and convenience.

5G CPE devices or modems transform 5G signals into Wi-Fi or LAN network connections, allowing many devices to connect to a 5G service in a variety of settings, including the home, workplace, and others.

Devices can connect to fast 5G internet in locations where there is no current broadband infrastructure by simply connecting to a 5G CPE device with a 5G SIM card attached.

Designed Via Research And Collaboration

The Qualcomm Snapdragon X62 5G Modem-RF system in the T2 has been further optimised by OPPO in collaboration with Qualcomm, resulting in data transmission speeds that are over 20% faster than the platform baseline.

In terms of compatibility, the T2’s hardware architecture is designed such that the Snapdragon X62 5G modem can be swapped out for the Snapdragon X65 modem, allowing OPPO to upgrade the T2 as needed based on operator clients’ market requirements.

OPPO has launched its latest O-Reserve 2.0 smart antenna technology for the T2’s antenna, that analyzes signals received by eight antennas in real time and selects four of them depending on gain strength and signal quality to establish a downlink route.

Sustainable build

OPPO’s sleek design philosophy is carried over to the T2. Its clean white cylindrical form is capped by a mobius band.

On the inside, the T2’s innovative internal architecture and component placement provide heat dissipation performance that considerably exceeds industry standards.

The T2 uses natural principles of convection via a central ring suction ventilator to improve heat dissipation while minimising the size of the heatsink, in addition to using basic heat dissipation components.

OPPO’s T2 is partially built of Post-Consumer Recycled Plastics (PCR), which are sourced from consumer items and assist to cut carbon emissions as well as support environmental efforts.
